When to Book Flights
Do we really still need to be wondering when to book flights just to get the best deal for our next trip?
With all of the great websites and awesome smartphone apps do we really need to continue playing this game?
Is the best answer still to book between 2:02 and 2:08 on a Tuesday, 3 weeks before your trip, provided there’s a full moon with a partial eclipse on a leap year? Clearly I’m joking, but have you found a more straightforward answer?
There MUST be a better way!
Where Do We Start?
Maybe we should re-frame our question. What is it that we really want to know?
If you want better answers, ask better questions. @TonyRobbins Share on X
With that in mind, what is it that we REALLY want to know when we’re asking when to book flights?
In my experience, we’re only looking to calm these concerns when it comes to booking flights:
1. I don’t want to feel ripped off by a price decrease after I book my flight
2. I don’t want to wait too long and miss out on a lower price
3. Do airlines or 3rd-party sites offer the best deals
What if there was a way to book our flights without having to be concerned with any of the above?
The Solution DOES Exist!
Based on our better questions, my research has given me a better solution that I’m super pumped to be able to share with you today!
First let me ask you a couple of questions …
1. What if you could be assured of competitive pricing regardless of the airline, departure or destination?
2. What if you were guaranteed that if you found a cheaper rate you’d get the difference refunded to you?
3. What if you knew that any significant drops in price would be credited back to you?
4. Does this sound too good to be true?
If you answered YES to any of these questions, I have some great news for you (and if you answered yes to question 4, prepare to have your mind blown)!
I’ve had the good fortune to find to a VIP, invitation only travel club that has proven to address each of these areas. Can you believe it!?! I couldn’t when I first heard about them … but let me assure you I’ve done my homework and they’ve proven to be even more impressive than they sound.
So now it’s up to you!
Do you want to go back to waiting for that full moon on a partial eclipse at 2:02 next Tuesday? Or do you want to rest assured you’re being taken care of, so you can turn your concerns to things that really matter like how long to extend your next vacation for??

Love traveling and yes I have felt like I got ripped off after I booked. Now I don’t worry about it, I just book it.
Great to hear Mark! Isn’t that one of the best feelings? 🙂
Thanks for the info about this Travel club. Glad to see theres ways to book cheaper flights.
Definitely some better options out there disrupting the status quo, Adewale! 🙂
great sharing thanks Bruce!
Awesome post Bruce! People always struggle with when to book flight to secure the cheaper prices. Whenever I book something, I don’t go and look again if the prices became cheaper so that I don’t get disappointed haha. Thanks for sharing this!
You’re very welcome Jelena! It’s definitely okay to just be happy with the price you paid 🙂
Been looking for something like this! Definitely don’t want buyer’s remorse. Thanks for sharing!
Glad to hear it Eddie. I hope these tips really help you out!
I usually travel during my anniversary for a family holiday which is in December. I end up paying a very high price for tickets and few months later come across all offers for cheap flight tickets. Burns my heart after the pockets
That’s definitely not a good feeling to have, which is why i like the feature i use where if the price drops, i get refunded
Love this and your description of the “perfect” time to book a flight! I usually don’t ever plan out my trips that far in advance anyway, so I’d usually end up looking at the “science” behind it and just sigh. It’s encouraging to know that there are services out there that help travelers make the most out of their purchase for flights!
So true Rachelle. Utilizing those services has helped save me a ton of money … and headache!
Yes thanks for sharing this with us. I normally book early bird flights or look for weekly specials. I think we have done pretty well at getting competitively priced air fares in the past.
Awesome Kathy! Yes, looking for specials or “seat sales” is much better than trying to base booking on some fantasy timing
I don’t necessarily think there’s a “perfect time” to book a flight. If I’m booking one, I usually go directly to the airline’s website, as I’ve seen better pricing that way, no matter how far or last minute I do it. The VIP club is intriguing but I didn’t get enough info on this post to go further down that hole. LOL. Absolutely no ill intentions on that bit though. Hope you understand.
No worries Amber. If you were interested in pricing guarantees and money back when prices drop, you’d have clicked through 🙂
Thanks for this enlightenment. The only reason I’ve not explored the world is because I feel cheated by time and airport.
Let’s stop that from continuing Lydia, I can definitely help you beat those obstacles!
We are really bad at planning ahead. We often book last minute flights to whatever destination is the cheapest! Google Flights is great for comparing prices. We can’t wait until Canada gets a cheaper airline though!!
Won’t that be amazing! Yes I use Google Flights to see if i’ll be getting any money back (150% of the difference) when I’m booking my flights too
Flights form the bulk of the cost for any travel budget, hence it is makes sense to save as much as one can on this. Always looking out for ways to do this including booking quite early, looking out for deals and offers, etc.. The Travel Club looks promising in this regard.
It’s definitely more than promising, in my experience. I no longer travel any other way!
I’m always looking for different ways to save money on flights. Looks like you have found a great solution with The Travel Club. I love how you got a little “timely” blurb in about the upcoming eclipse.
Totally accidental, but definitely worked out with that eclipse reference Sara!
I agree, I don’t trust this “Tuesday at certain time” thing either. It might have worked sometimes but I think the best way is to know your airline and their behaviour. I have noticed that certain airlines, the earlier you book the cheaper flights you get but then with another airline you get cheaper ones closer to travel time. Sometimes I still have to just go ahead and book what ever is offered.
So right Paula. That myth may have worked before we could verify the info ourselves, but now we have access to so much info that we can make our own travel “rules”
