Instantly Become a Person of Authority in Any Niche You Choose

Positioning yourself as a person of authority is the most important thing you can do for your business.  Not only does it give you instant credibility and exposure, but it doesn’t require any results to setup.

Wait, isn’t that inauthentic??

Not at all!

Nobody said to claim you’re an expert, or mislead anyone.  You’re simply providing help to people searching for the same information you’ve been able to learn, and point them to the people, organizations, and teachings  that will benefit them.

So how do we do it?

Have a Vision

The first step in becoming a person of authority is to see yourself in a better situation without justifying where you are.  Focus on what you want to become, not on the current circumstances you find yourself in.  Having goals are important, but they’re not enough.  Your goals must be combined with your vision to keep you on track!

With that in mind, let’s suspend our belief for a moment.  Who do you want to become?  How do you want to be known?

Get a clear picture and hold onto it.  Put some emotion behind it to make it even more real.  How will it feel when you become the person you want to become?  Change your expectations into appreciations and your life will instantly change!

Be a Student First

To become a credible person of authority you’ll need to immerse yourself in coaching and learning.  How else will you continue to find those amazing insights to share with your followers??

You’ll quickly find that there’s a direct correlation between what you invest in yourself and your income.  Investment comes in the form of both time and money … and honestly, you’ll need a bit of both.  If you’re only searching for free options, you’ll quickly run out of viable options to continue your progression.  Free is the MOST EXPENSIVE option when you’re building your business, and your authority.

Why can I say that?  It always takes the longest!

When you’re limiting yourself to free courses, coaching, webinars, ebooks, etc. you require more time investment to find the same information that a simple paid option would provide.  That’s not to say you need to go out and find the most expensive option, or that the more you spend that faster you’re guaranteed to progress.  All I’m saying is that there’s going to be a trade-off of time and money to get you to where you want to go.

What’s this magic formula?  Simple … How much is your time worth to you?

Content is King

The fastest way to become an authority is to teach.  You’ll instantly become credible, and bee seen as a person who has something of value to share.

Blogging is the BEST platform  to teach from, and instantly create content with authority.  Everything else will become a spoke to this hub.  All of your social media posts, email lists, etc. will server to support and enhance your blog.

So what will you teach?  The best plan is to simply teach as you learn.  Your audience is all the people who have not yet learned what you now know.

My friend Ray puts it this way:  First you invest in yourself, then you learn everything you can, and finally teach what you just learned to others.  Invest – Learn – Teach … brilliant!

When you start implementing this simple formula you’ll quickly put yourself in a position where you’ll be out-teaching your competition.  Now you’re adding to your credibility and increasing your authority!

Build and Serve Your Audience

If you’re like most people, one of your first thoughts when you’re setting up your blog is “who would listen to me?”  Well i have a secret to share with you …. there will ALWAYS be more people who are hungry for information than there are teachers!

Now take your notes and convert them into online content, but make sure you include a Call-To-Action to have people reach out to you for even more help.  What’s a Call-To-Action?  Anything that leads your audience along a path that gets them into a closer online relationship with you.  For example: asking people to join your email list, offering a free download, providing access to exclusive content, or registering for a webinar.

Now I must warn you.  Along your journey you’ll inevitably run into some people who don’t celebrate your success.  Keep focused on building your brand or following, and the opinions of any 1 person won’t matter.

Go where you’re celebrated, not where you’re tolerated.
